Jerde is a global group of innovative pioneers, architects, landscape designers, urban planners, and strategists with a collective commitment to design beyond the ordinary. Their worldwide portfolio of places spans diverse genres, built on the attributes of creativity, experiences, and team culture. With offices in Los Angeles, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Korea, Jerde came to Group Efforts for a brand refresh. We were inspired by Jerde’s rich architectural history including the design of the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, and we collaborated with them on reimagining their branding, digital experience, and visual language for the future. We’re now working with Jerde on all aspects of their brand collateral and experience including social media and storytelling.
Proof that if you don’t think big, you won’t do big. In December, 2015, the world's best manmade wave was revealed to the world in a coordinated social media effort picked up by media all over the world. We had the pleasure of coordinating this first reveal, and Group Efforts has been the exclusive agency of record for KSWC driving their take-to-market strategy over the last two years. We design and develop all aspects of their brand experience and visual identity including producing their films and brand imagery. We also manage their ongoing digital experience including social media. Since the first wave was revealed to the world, our content has generated more than 120 million impressions worldwide.
The ultimate case study in building the brand of the future, Outerknown is a lesson in learning how to design again. We took a tough business like fashion, and made it more challenging by vowing to build all of our products from day one with the highest regard for the environment and the people that are manufacturing our clothing. Our vision is to build clothing we want to wear with a process we believe in. Born at the intersection of Sustainability and Style, Outerknown is a Group Efforts brand and we are involved in every aspect of the brands direction and experience.
Jenni Kayne is a young American designer whose soulful approach to California living illustrates that modern luxury is not defined by product or price, but by culture and experience. We’ve had the pleasure of working with Jenni on all aspects of her brand experience including redesigning her website and collaborating with her team on advertising, brand imagery and her first direct to consumer catalog.
As the agency of record for KSWC, Group Efforts led the brand experience and marketing efforts to deliver this complete surfing and lifestyle experience in the heart of California’s San Joaquin Valley. We developed the branding and experiential elements and amenities that make Surf Ranch (110 miles from the coast) feel like one of the most special surfing experiences in the world. Warm, inviting and soulful, Surf Ranch was designed to be an extension of our homes and our way of living. It’s a place to connect with others, to create lasting memories and share stories. A meeting place where two strangers depart as great friends.
Located just steps from the Huntington Beach pier, Paséa Hotel & Spa is a modern oasis with an unrivaled sense of clean, coastal style and comfort that guests can experience with the sand between their toes. Group Efforts was engaged by the Meritage Collection of Luxury Hotels to create the branding, identity and conceptualize the authentic coastal experience and amenities for this latest addition in their Meritage collection of acclaimed resorts.
Firewire is dedicated to building high performance surfboards and accessories through innovative design, materials and construction methods. They're always striving to leave the lowest possible impact on the environment while also giving back through the support of various environmental and humanitarian organizations. Already a leader in surfboard design, Firewire came to Group Efforts and simply asked us to help them modernize their identity and develop a new digital experience and a visual language that would carry through every element of their identity from signature branding elements on their boards to the look and feel of their brand experience at every touch point.
Pause is a sensory deprivation “floating” experience in Venice, California. As you lie back, you float weightlessly, buoyed by the salts… a modern way to decompress, regenerate and recharge. Everyone can benefit from Pause - yogis and meditators can find deeper states of serenity, techies can unplug, athletes and weekend warriors can heal their worn out bodies while artists and entertainers can find creative inspiration. Group Efforts worked with the founding partners to name the business, design their identity, and help bring the concept to life.
As long as we’ve known Kelly, he’s been sketching this logo on napkins, or anything he could get his hands on. When Kelly decided to launch his own collection of boards with Firewire’s technology, Kelly was sure this was the only mark that was good enough. We call it “The Pill,” and Kelly’s passion, his history and innovation for the future is all contained within this logo. The logo was his idea, but Group Efforts brought it to life through a series of compositions and signature board placements while developing an original Slater Designs font that literally fits into the pill…we’re calling it the “Pill font.”
